WHAT IS PRESBYOPIA?
Starting around age 40, you may find it harder to focus on nearby objects like book or magazine print—especially in low light. Presbyopia is a very common eye condition. Everyone’s eyes change over time, and you may think reading glasses are your only option. You’re in good company.
What Causes Presbyopia?
The lens inside your eye progressively loses some flexibility, which makes it harder for your eye to focus light. It’s unavoidable and it will happen even if you already wear vision correction.
Presbyopia Symptoms & Issues
You may notice your blurry vision only in low light or in the evening, such as needing the light on your phone to read the dinner menu or increasing your computer’s font size to read small print. If you get headaches or eye fatigue, these might be additional symptoms of presbyopia, so it’s important to see your eye care professional.
